Resources for Extension Professionals

These resources are intended for Extension professionals who are working with families and communities to address the needs that have arisen as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. The resources that have been developed specifically in response to the terrorist attacks are noted in bold. Workshop/Training materials

"Beyond Blame: Reacting to the Terrorist Attack" - Education Development Center - free 30-page curriculum for middle and high school students focused on issues of justice and mislaid blame.Also available in Spanish.

Children, Stress and Natural Disasters University of Illinois Cooperative Extension - a set of resources for teachers and other child-care or youth workers that helps prepare them for working with children who have been through a disaster. These resources include a guide and activity ideas.

Respecting Differences Resource Guide National PTA - a resource developed for use in working with PTA boards to promote diversity, but the suggested activities could be adapted for use in other contexts
