Ohio Fish Farmers Open Meeting

Ohio fish farmers and those interested in fish farming can meet the Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), Mr. Robert Boggs, to discuss the needs and help set the priorities of Ohio aquaculture. Director Boggs will be available to talk with attendees and answer questions about aquaculture development plans for Ohio.

You will be able to provide input and comments on the draft version of the new Ohio Aquaculture Plan. This Plan is being developed with the cooperation of the ODA, to set the priority needs of Ohio aquaculture for the next decade. This plan will be presented to the Ohio Legislature for future funding and support. An optional tour of the new OARDC Feed Mill is also being offered.

If you care about Ohio aquaculture and want to contribute to its’ vision and development for the next decade, then you need to be at this meeting!

Tentative Agenda

2:45 pm Meet at Fisher Auditorium for tour of new OARDC Feed Mill

3:00 – 4:00 pm OARDC Feed Mill Tour with Mr. Jack Bardall, Manager.

4:30 - 5:00 pm Registration @ Fisher Auditorium, OARDC Wooster

5:00 – 5:15 pm Opening remarks from Director Boggs

5:15 – 6:00 pm Q&A with Director Boggs from the audience members

6:00 – 7:00 pm Full Course Dinner, featuring Ohio aquaculture products!

During dinner, the draft 2009 Ohio Aquaculture Plan

(OAP) will be presented, and questions / comments will be taken from the floor.

7:00 – 7:30 pm Wrap-up and discussion of Ohio Aquaculture Plan priorities
